INDIANAPOLIS (February 21, 2023) — Tony Stewart spent 20 years in NASCAR, winning many races, championships and accolades. But now the former professional racecar driver is celebrating his biggest 20-year achievement — service and millions of dollars contributed to programs across the country with his philanthropic organization, The Tony Stewart Foundation.
Founded in 2003 by Stewart, the Tony Stewart Foundation provides grant funding to well-qualified organizations serving children who are critically ill or physically disabled; animals at risk or endangered; and drivers injured in the sport of motor racing. These three specific groups are Stewart’s passions, and his biggest goal since the end of his racing career has been to support and positively affect the lives of thousands of individuals and animals. Since its inception, the Foundation has donated over $7 million to hundreds of grant partners throughout the United States.
“We are truly humbled and grateful to have reached this significant milestone,” Erica Raisor, Director of the Tony Stewart Foundation said. “None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support, dedication and generosity of our donors, fans and partners. We are excited to continue changing the lives of children, animals and drivers and make an even greater impact for the next 20 years and beyond.”
To mark this special milestone, the Tony Stewart Foundation will be hosting various events and celebrations throughout the year that will not only highlight where the Foundation has been, but where it plans to go in the future. The Foundation also rebranded ahead of its 20th anniversary to better showcase its mission and impact. The new look of the Tony Stewart Foundation is modern and impactful, reflecting the organization’s commitment to being at the forefront of change and leaving a lasting impression.
To help support its mission, the Tony Stewart Foundation is encouraging everyone to join the Tony Stewart Team by advocating for the Foundation or donating to help support all its current and upcoming grant partners. The foundation supports many local organizations including Childhood Cancer Foundation, Wheelchairs 4 Kids, Hoosier Burn Camp, ICAN, the Brown County Humane Society and more.
“We are truly grateful for the partnerships and support we have received over the past 20 years, and we are excited for what our 20th anniversary year has in store for the Foundation,” said Tony Stewart, Founder and President of the Board of Directors. “’Accelerating Change for 20 Years & Counting’ is just the beginning of our ongoing commitment to provide the funding necessary to make a difference all over the world.”
