Cosmo, a little white Havanese and certified therapy dog, joins children at the Virginia Shuman Young Elementary School (Oakland Park, FL) as part of the Pack Reader Program provided through TSF Grant Partner Canine Assisted Therapy. CAT is best known for providing therapy teams visiting hospitals and nursing homes but this fabulous nonprofit also reaches a younger audience with its educational outreach.
Therapy dog Cosmo has been volunteering his time for the past 7 years at schools and libraries in the area. He is an excellent listener and provides a non-judgmental and calming presence in the classroom. Children are developing a love for reading and increasing their self-confidence all thanks to Cosmo’s hard work!
Way to go Cosmo and Kids!
