The Children’s Craniofacial Association, based in Texas, empowers and gives hope to children affected with facial differences. Through their #ChooseKind Wonder initiative, Real-Life Auggies reached 4,500 students in 50 schools throughout the United States. Talk about breaking down barriers to help children embrace the heart of an individual rather than be exclusionary because of how someone looks!

And, the good news keeps coming as the book Wonder is being adapted for a major motion picture expected to hit the silver screen in April 2017. Julia Roberts plays the role of Auggie’s mom, Owen Wilson plays his dad and the role of Auggie is Jacob Tremblay (Vancouver, British Columbia). Jacob and his entire family joined the CCA Retreat in Ft. Lauderdale, FL to meet Real-Life Auggies so he was able to get a pretty good idea of what it’s like to be a CCA Kid! Other A-List actors in the film include Mandy Patinkin, Noah Jupe and Daveed Diggs (Hamilton fame).
