Tony Stewart is Going to Race Again in Indiana

Tony Stewart retired from NASCAR last year, but by no means has he left the world of racing. The Columbus, Ind. native owns a racing team in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series and still finds ways to compete behind the wheel. In April, he won on a dirt track in a sprint car series race in Florida. This week, he's planning to do the same in New Zealand. But later this month, Stewart will be closer to home. On Dec. 29 and 30, he'll race at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum as part of the Rumble in Fort Wayne. The race features karts and midget cars, which are very compact, but at up to 400 horsepower, have a lot of get [...]

Tony is Comfortable in Retirement

TULSA, Okla. -- Tony Stewart opted for a vehicle that he could rev up to a whopping 2 mph during the Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Midget Nationals race week. Rarely does Stewart have to go slow to earn a paycheck. But there he was working into the wee hours of the morning, plodding along tilling the surface to prepare the track throughout the week. He didn't race because he got the call from the race organizer Emmett Hahn that Hahn needed Stewart's track-prep acumen, a job Stewart has performed the past four years at the Tulsa River Spirit Expo Center. As he toiled away at about 12:30 a.m. Saturday, well after all the races had ended Friday night, [...]

Tony Stewart Talks About His Racing Plans for 2017

foxsports Sep 28, 2016 at 5:00p ET Three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Tony Stewart said Wednesday that he will compete in “40 to 50” races next year, most on dirt and at least some driving for other car owners. Stewart said he gave the 40 to 50 race schedule to Jimmy Carr, who serves as the crew chief for Stewart’s sprint car program. Stewart said Carr pinned him down so he could figure how much equipment he’d need next year. “It may be more than we’re going to do,” Stewart said of his tentative 2017 schedule. “But if we don’t have enough stuff, it will be hard to do what we want to do. If we do too much [...]
