American Black & Tan Coonhound Rescue

American Black & Tan Coonhound Rescue (based in OHIO and saving hounds nationwide) is unique among dog rescue groups because of its national scope, target breeds and all-volunteer organization.   We are the largest single group dedicated solely to rescuing Coonhounds and Bloodhounds in the United States.  Each of our dogs is housed in a foster home, rather than in a shelter facility or kennel.  We now have more than 90 foster homes in 44 states and adopt our dogs out as pets to families in all 50 of the United States and several provinces in Canada.  In 2013, we adopted out over 500 dogs and this work is accomplished by an all-volunteer organization.  There are no salaried [...]

Cocker Spaniel Rescue of Austin

Cocker Spaniel Rescue of Austin / San Antonio (CSRA) is committed to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming cocker spaniels in central Texas (and sometimes beyond). Those rescued orphans are fostered in loving homes of volunteers who work very proactively training, teaching home life skills, rehabilitating and advocating for the dogs’ health needs to prepare them for their next life. We do not discriminate as to the type of Cockers we take into rescue and include cocker mixes as well as those with medical and behavior issues that we feel are in need. CSRA takes healthy, sick, young and old Cocker Spaniels as long as we have an open foster home. The majority of our dogs come [...]

First Coast No More Homeless Pets

When First Coast No More Homeless Pets (FCNMHP) was founded in 2002, Jacksonville, Florida, was considered one of the worst cities in the nation for the killing of dogs and cats in shelters. As a result of our collaborative and comprehensive programs, Jacksonville is now considered one of the best. We operate the largest spay/neuter facility in the nation, performing 31,125 targeted free or low-cost surgeries last year, organize the nation’s largest adoption events where approximately1,000 homeless pets find new homes in a single weekend, and have programs designed to keep pets in the homeand out of shelters. These programs have reduced euthanasia at the city shelter from more than 23,000 dogs and cats annually in 2002 to just over 1,000. Jacksonville [...]

Freedom Service Dogs

Freedom Service Dogs is a nonprofit organization that enhances the lives of people with disabilities by rescuing dogs and custom training them for individual client needs. Clients include children, veterans, active duty soldiers, and adults. Clients’ disabilities include autism, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injuries, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). What sets Freedom Service Dogs apart from other service dog organizations is that we use rescued dogs and don’t have a puppy breeding program. All of our rescued dogs undergo screenings for health and temperament before beginning a 7 to 10 month training program. Dogs that do not make it through the training program are adopted into [...]

Indy Great Pyrenees Rescue

Indy Great Pyrenees Rescue was founded in 2002 to help rehome abandoned Great Pyrenees  nd Great Pyrenees mixes from owners who could no longer keep them and from those in animal shelters.  We primarily rescue dogs from Indiana, however we do consider dogs in need from Ohio and Kentucky, due to lack of active Great Pyrenees rescues in those states.  We received our not for profit designation in 2006.  Since our inception, we have rehomed over 1200 dogs in need. We are a volunteer based rescue who rely on foster homes to house with the dogs in our program. This way the dogs are in a home environment and we are able to learn how [...]

Justin Bartlett Animal Rescue

Where there is suffering you will find us. We are Justin Bartlett Animal rescue, and we are “the largest puppy rescue in Palm Beach County”. While our mission is focused primarily on saving pregnant and nursing dogs, cats, orphaned puppies and kittens, we also take a special interest in the severely injured, abused and neglected. Sadly, public shelters don't have resources to care for or even hold animals from these types of cases. Thanks to grants and donations, we are able to help more and more animals from these situations each year, which would otherwise end up as another shelter euthanasia statistics. Justin Bartlett Animal Rescue solely runs on love and donations! With over 300 [...]
