Cocker Spaniel Rescue of Austin

Cocker Spaniel Rescue of Austin / San Antonio (CSRA) is committed to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming cocker spaniels in central Texas (and sometimes beyond). Those rescued orphans are fostered in loving homes of volunteers who work very proactively training, teaching home life skills, rehabilitating and advocating for the dogs’ health needs to prepare them for their next life. We do not discriminate as to the type of Cockers we take into rescue and include cocker mixes as well as those with medical and behavior issues that we feel are in need. CSRA takes healthy, sick, young and old Cocker Spaniels as long as we have an open foster home. The majority of our dogs come [...]

First Coast No More Homeless Pets

When First Coast No More Homeless Pets (FCNMHP) was founded in 2002, Jacksonville, Florida, was considered one of the worst cities in the nation for the killing of dogs and cats in shelters. As a result of our collaborative and comprehensive programs, Jacksonville is now considered one of the best. We operate the largest spay/neuter facility in the nation, performing 31,125 targeted free or low-cost surgeries last year, organize the nation’s largest adoption events where approximately1,000 homeless pets find new homes in a single weekend, and have programs designed to keep pets in the homeand out of shelters. These programs have reduced euthanasia at the city shelter from more than 23,000 dogs and cats annually in 2002 to just over 1,000. Jacksonville [...]

Freedom Service Dogs

Freedom Service Dogs is a nonprofit organization that enhances the lives of people with disabilities by rescuing dogs and custom training them for individual client needs. Clients include children, veterans, active duty soldiers, and adults. Clients’ disabilities include autism, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injuries, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). What sets Freedom Service Dogs apart from other service dog organizations is that we use rescued dogs and don’t have a puppy breeding program. All of our rescued dogs undergo screenings for health and temperament before beginning a 7 to 10 month training program. Dogs that do not make it through the training program are adopted into [...]

Justin Bartlett Animal Rescue

Where there is suffering you will find us. We are Justin Bartlett Animal rescue, and we are “the largest puppy rescue in Palm Beach County”. While our mission is focused primarily on saving pregnant and nursing dogs, cats, orphaned puppies and kittens, we also take a special interest in the severely injured, abused and neglected. Sadly, public shelters don't have resources to care for or even hold animals from these types of cases. Thanks to grants and donations, we are able to help more and more animals from these situations each year, which would otherwise end up as another shelter euthanasia statistics. Justin Bartlett Animal Rescue solely runs on love and donations! With over 300 [...]

Prison Greyhounds

Many former racing greyhounds have their lives on hold in cages because of a lack of foster homes. Some nonviolent inmates in Indiana are ready to make amends. Together, we can impact both. Prison Greyhounds provides fostering, training, and socialization for retired greyhounds prior to their adoption into permanent loving homes. Nonviolent inmate-handlers find compassion, unconditional love and rehabilitation through their foster responsibility with these dogs. We provide regular coaching as the handlers gain teamwork experience, and an opportunity to explore a better way of living before being released into our community. In addition to fostering dogs inside an Indiana prison, we also promote the adoption of greyhounds that retired with racing injuries. These dogs [...]

Wheelchairs 4 Kids

Wheelchairs 4 Kids is dedicated to improving the lives of children with physical disabilities by providing wheelchairs, home and vehicle modifications as well as other assistive equipment to children with physical disabilities at no charge to the families. Many children in the United States faced with living with physical disabilities are in wheelchairs that are too small, in disrepair, or do not fit the needs of the child. Children outgrow their wheelchairs before government or insurance programs will allow for a replacement - on average 5 years! Not only is it unsafe for a child to be in a chair that is inadequate for their needs, but it can impact their health in numerous ways [...]

Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest

Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest (CSNW) (WASHINGTON) is all about second chances for deserving chimpanzees. CSNW is one of only a handful of sanctuaries in the United States that cares for chimpanzees and is currently home to the only chimpanzees in Washington State. They not only provide wonderful care for their chimpanzee residents, but also strive to provide educational and advocacy opportunities to help all great apes in need. Those who follow their blog and social media sites become enamored with the chimpanzees and their personalities, quickly learning that Foxie loves troll dolls and Jamie, the boss of the group, is obsessed with cowboy boots. Each day is a new adventure at the sanctuary! CSNW is currently [...]

PAWS Chicago

PAWS Chicago is the largest No Kill humane organization in the Midwest and a national model in high-quality animal sheltering. Through long-term, sustainable programs and practices, PAWS works to permanently reduce the overpopulation of homeless pets in Chicago while leading a grassroots effort to engage and activate the community in animal welfare. PAWS Chicago was formed in 1997 in response to the staggering truth that more than 42,000 abandoned and neglected dogs, cats, kittens and puppies were killed in Chicago that year because they did not have homes. Today, this number has dropped over 78%. PAWS works to steadily reduce the number of homeless animals born by operating the Midwest’s largest high-volume spay/neuter clinic, conducting [...]

Suncoast Humane Society

Suncoast Humane Society was founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood. A dedicated handful of community pioneers incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization. In 1997, the corporate name was changed to Suncoast Humane Society to better reflect the widespread coverage area of the programs and services offered by the organization. Suncoast Humane Society operates one of Florida’s few “open admissions” animal care centers. They accept all animals brought to them by the public in their service area, regardless of health or temperament. Trained medical and behavioral staff evaluate each animal for adoptability. Healthy animals with stable temperaments and good behavior patterns are recommended for adoption. There is no time limit set [...]
