Tony Stewart/Ty Dillon – Tag Teaming at Talladega

KANNAPOLIS, North Carolina (April 26, 2016) – In the nearly 600 races Tony Stewart has started plus the upcoming two decades’ worth of races many expect Ty Dillon will run in his budding racing career, none will likely feature a driver lineup as unique as that of the No. 14 Bass Pro Shops/Tracker Boats Chevrolet SS for Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR) in Sunday’s GEICO 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Talladega (Ala.) Super speedway. Stewart will practice and start the No. 14 Bass Pro Shops/Tracker Boats Chevrolet in Sunday’s race. The three-time champion will drive until the first caution, when he’ll pull down pit lane and climb out of the car, allowing Dillon to race the remainder of the restrictor-plate [...]

Hand in Paw

4-Legged Comfort Birmingham, AL, (April 26, 2016) – 3-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion Tony Stewart knows it takes heart, drive and determination to overcome adversity on the track. The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is at Talladega Superspeedway racing on Sunday, May 1. Smoke is making his 2nd appearance behind the wheel of the No. 14 Chevrolet having worked hard to overcome his back injury sustained January 31. Stewart knows a person needs a motivator, a cheerleader or a friend to help soldier through the difficult times when recovering from an injury or facing a critical illness. It’s but one reason why Hand in Paw, based in Birmingham, AL, is one of Tony’s “Grant Accelerator” Charities. Hand in [...]

Loose Lugnuts: The Pre-Talladega Edition

(photo source: Tony Stewart Facebook) Are you all ready for Talladega? I admit I always fret about Talladega even more than I do about races at Daytona. So this is what has been rolling around in my head like lugnuts during a green flag pitstop: 1. Just a reminder first- Tony will only be taking a few laps at Talladega and then use replacement driver Ty Dillon. The risk of aggravating his back injury in those crazy crashes is just too great. As much as I love seeing Tony back in the car I can’t even express how much of relief that is to me as I have made no secret about how I feel about Talladega and the danger [...]

Tony Stewart 19th In Comeback At Richmond

Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy Chevrolet SS Driver Overcomes Injury & Time Out of Car Date: April 24, 2016 Event: Richmond 400 (Round 9 of 36) Series: NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Location: Richmond (Va.) International Raceway (.75-mile oval) Start/Finish: 18th/19th (Running, 400/400 laps) Winner: Carl Edwards of Joe Gibbs Racing (Toyota) A 19th-place finish in Sunday’s Richmond 400 isn’t the type of result three-time champion Tony Stewart would normally appreciate given his historic record of success in 17 years of NASCAR Sprint Cup racing. But the performance might have been one of the most memorable drives of Stewart’s career, marking a triumph over physical injuries and time out of a racecar that few drivers could achieve. Just 84 days after fracturing his back – an [...]

Morris Wins Vores Compact Series Event on Exciting Saturday Night Speedfest at Eldora ROSSBURG, Ohio (April 23, 2016) – Paul Pardo nearly won five consecutive Eldora stock car A-Main’s. He scored his fourth straight win in the first A-Main at Eldora Speedway’s Saturday Night Speedfest and finished runner-up to Rob Trent in the second A-Feature. In the first A-Main, it appeared as though his winning streak was going to end as Earnie Woodard, from Georgetown, Kentucky, had built up a large lead from his starting position outside the front row. But a caution came out with six laps to go and Pardo, from New Paris, Ohio restarted second and slid below Woodard and barely cleared him exiting turn [...]

(Photo Source: Tony Stewart Facebook) Started: 18th Finished: 19th Points: 22, 101 points from 30th Quote of the race: “Line them up and I’ll run 800 laps right now and not have a problem. There will be a bunch of these guys falling out of the seat if they had to run 800 more laps, but I will not be one of them.” — Tony on the radio after the race, when asked by his crew chief how he was feeling. LOVE IT! (Photo Source: Mobil 1 facebook) I have had the chorus from the Welcome Back Kotter theme song stuck in my head since Thursday morning when Tony made the announcement that he would be piloting the #14 Mobil 1 Chevy  for the first time [...]
